The data for legal residence in our country have been updated. According to the Greek legislation, including L. 4146/2013 and its subsequent amendments such as L. 5038/2023, a 5-year residence permit in Greece (European Union) is granted to third-country nationals who make qualifying investments in the country.

In the case of real estate investment, the minimum investment amount depends on the area of the property. In several regions of Greece the minimum investment remains €250,000, while in areas of higher demand the minimum investment has increased to €500,000 or €800,000, according to the latest regulations.

A residence permit may also be granted to investors who:

• Invest €400,000 in Greek government bonds

• Invest €400,000 as a capital contribution to a Greek company

• Make a time deposit of €400,000 in a domestic banking institution

• Invest €400,000 in mutual fund units that invest exclusively in shares, corporate bonds, or Greek government bonds traded in Greek markets

• Invest €800,000 in shares, corporate bonds, or Greek government bonds traded in Greek markets

The residence permit is valid for five years and can be renewed every five years, provided that the investment is maintained and the legal requirements continue to be fulfilled.
